Pre-Surgery Therapy
Prior to the procedure, the use of MANUAL LYMPH DRAINAGE (MLD) Therapy reduces chronic swelling and inflammation. Surgical outcomes are improved due to fewer complications and less bleeding during the procedure.
Post-Surgery Therapy
can reduce or eliminate these conditions.
Post Surgical Complications
Through the use of MANUAL LYMPH DRAINAGE (MLD) Therapy, we are able to achieve a reduction in swelling, especially post-operative edema. MLD’s gentle movements allow therapy to commence within 2-3 days of a procedure, thereby greatly reducing discomfort, inflammation, swelling and the formation of scar tissue, thereby leaving affected tissue healthy and supple. This reduces healing time. For instance, clinical experience by cosmetic surgeons has shown that healing time can be reduced by 50% or more with follow-up therapy that includes MLD. MLD’s gentle touch anesthetizes sensitive skin, actually reducing immediate discomfort while MLD’s effectiveness in reducing swelling greatly shortens the duration of discomfort.
MLD can be successfully used after orthopedic surgery for the hip and knee, as well as after ankle, shoulder, back and neck surgery. Sinus surgery, for instance, is typically successful 50% of the time; however, if followed up with MLD post surgery, success rates can be improved up to 100%.
Cosmetic surgeons have found they don’t have to be as restrictive and can work more thoroughly if followed up by MLD post surgically versus an unaided healing process.
